BUILDING THE IT TALENT PIPELINE IN NORTHEAST WISCONSIN
Did you know that there are nearly 11,000 people employed in Information Technology (IT) careers in northeast Wisconsin? And, in the New North region, we will outpace growth in new IT jobs in Wisconsin. Why? It is the strength of our advanced manufacturing, insurance, financial services, transportation, health care and IT firms that plan double digit growth over the next five years.
Information Technology is an integral process in every business and the talent needs are as varied as the industries seeking qualified candidates to grow their digital platform. In May, 2015 NEW ERA in collaboration with New North, area economic development organizations, Chambers of Commerce, the Bay Area Workforce Development Board and the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board conducted a market analysis to better understand the IT talent demand and supply.
NEW ERA colleges and universities are currently working on 2+2 degree programs, similar to the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology degrees, in that students can begin at any NEW ERA college or university and complete their Bachelor's degree in four years with internship experiences.
