Welcome to the 5th Annual Green Innovations Symposium at
UW-Green Bay!
NEW ERA Sustainablity Task Force
This year's 2013 Green Innovations Symposium features discussion
topics on urban agriculture and community sustainability. Focus
will be on the issues of food industry sustainability from foods
locally produced to sustainable food transportation, bioenergy crop
potential and opportunities, local "green" public and private
campuses and energy opportunities available, and partnering with
students to achieve sustainability. Please see the symposium
schedule for more information about this year's scheduled speakers
and events. http://www.uwgb.edu/embi/symposium/2013schedule.asp
Our conference will close with noted sustainability speaker Dr.
David W. Orr sharing his experiences with the 'Oberlin Project", a
joint effort of the City of Oberlin, Oberlin College, and private
and institutional partners to improve the resilience, prosperity,
and sustainability of their community. The Oberlin Project's aim to
revitalize the local economy, eliminate carbon emissions, restore
local agriculture, food supply and forestry, and create a new,
sustainable base for economic and community development is a model
for Wisconsin communities to emulate.
